Fuel Ox® Heat Master

FuelOx Logo

Fuel Ox® Heat Master is a concentrated formula designed to meet the fuel quality needs of the NEFI Providence Resolution, where upcoming regulatory changes are likely to place higher bio and renewable fuel requirements on the heating oil industry. Fuel Ox® Heat Master contains a combination of chemistries designed to optimize the performance of heating oils. This product contains stabilizer, detergent, water dispersant, metal deactivators, and corrosion inhibitors. Fuel Ox® Heat Master's stabilizer will reduce the incidence of harmful peroxides. Added detergent helps prevent the formation of nozzle and filter deposits, allowing systems to function better. As a result, Fuel Ox® Heat Master is effective when used with bio-blends and neat Ultra Low Sulfur Heating Oil (ULSHO). Fuel Ox® Heat Master is fully compatible with all ULSHO and biofuel blends.

The continued use of Fuel Ox® Heat Master can help optimize heating oil system performance and reduce the chance of ‘no heat’ calls in the winter.

Fuel Ox® Star Plus™

Fuel Ox® Star Plus™ is a heating oil additive for both outside and inside tanks. It is designed to enhance fuel system efficiency and significantly minimize prevalent fuel-related problems and service calls in the winter season. It effectively addresses concerns such as stabilization, gelled fuel and ice, sludge buildup, water contamination, and corrosion. Bio-blend fuels have a tendency to degrade rapidly and cause blockages in the internal components of fuel systems. Moreover, fuel oxidation leads to an acidic environment that deteriorates seals and results in the clogging of interior components. By preventing fuel oxidation and maintaining the stability of bio-blends, Fuel Ox® Star Plus™ safeguards against these issues. Furthermore, it is suitable for use in both indoor and outdoor heating oil tanks.

Ultra-Low Sulfur Heating Oil

It’s not just renewable biodiesel that sets today’s heating oil apart from the past, it’s also the fuel's ultra-low sulfur properties!

Ultra-low sulfur heating oil (ULSHO) has a sulfur content of only 15 parts per million (ppm), compared to “traditional” Oilheat that averaged 2,000 ppm or greater! That’s a 99% reduction in sulfur content!

Premium Heating Oil Safety

Home- and business-owners who rely on premium heating oil can relax knowing that this fuel is one of the safest they can choose.

  • It won’t burn in its liquid state! A match dropped into liquid premium heating oil will go out, just as if it was dropped in water.
  • It has to be heated to 140° F and atomized into a fine mist to become a flammable vapor before it will burn.
  • It has a low carbon monoxide risk. Your heating system produces very noticeable warning signs, like smoke, soot, and odors, if there is a malfunction, long before dangerous levels of carbon monoxide can build up. Modern systems also have safety shut-off devices in the event of a malfunction.

Safety Tips

As safe as premium heating oil is, it is important to take precautions with any fuel.

  • Install CO detectors in your home, especially near bedrooms. As safe as it is, you can never be too safe!
  • Keep your equipment in good repair, and remember to schedule your annual tune-up.
  • Keep the area around the burner clear of flammable materials
  • Only let a licensed heating technician work on your equipment.
  • Check around your tanks for signs of leaks, and then call us immediately.

What to Do if Your Storage Tank Leaks

Tank releases are very rare, but they do occur, especially in older tanks. If you identify a leak, follow these steps:

  1. Call Buhrmaster Energy at 518-382-0260: we will immediately come to assess the damage and contact any environmental agencies, if needed
  2. If possible, put a pail or other container under the leaking area
  3. If it is inside, open windows to ventilate the area
  4. Use cat litter, soil, or another non-porous material to stop the leak from spreading
  5. Call your insurance company – your homeowner’s policy may cover cleanup and repair costs
